Buffs Racing Launch Crowdfunding Campaign

October 9th, 2018

The CU Boulder Racing Team has spent the past year designing a Formula SAE race car. Now, we need your help building it. Race cars are expensive, and we are seeking to raise $50,000 to seize this opportunity.

Mission Statement:

The CU Boulder Racing Team is an organization focused on various road racing competitions. Our main goal is building a race car to compete in the intercollegiate competition known as Formula SAE. We also have an entry-level division for endurance racing, for races like the 24 Hours of LeMons. Our club welcomes everyone, with or without racing experience. The only thing we desire from our members is willingness to learn and enthusiasm for racing.

What is Formula SAE?

Formula SAE is an intercollegiate engineering competition hosted by the Society of Automotive Engineers. Founded in 1981, it has become the most prestigious collegiate engineering design event. Formula SAE encourages students to apply their in-class education by designing a single seater race car, and marketing it as a potential product. The design must adhere to strict regulations set by SAE. The race car must be cost efficient, compete in a variety of dynamic events, and be presented to a board of judges. Formula SAE promotes learning, problem solving, hands-on experience, excellence, and provides with career opportunities.

What will my contribution go towards?

Every contribution comes with a significant impact, no matter if it is $1 or $10,000, it will be spent to purchase parts, tools, materials, and cover competition costs. For example, a contribution of $1.56 allows us to purchase our Pull Rod Tab, and contribution of $1,800 allows us to build all of our front frame. All these contributions help our team gain invaluable hands-on experience to put together an amazing race car. We thank you for considering helping our team, by sharing our campaign and making donations.
